Ali Dizaei: His Rollercoaster Life
Ali Dizaei is one of the most famous Iranian- British cops and is internationally known as London Metropolitan Police Commander.
His story is one of unique talent, extraordinary resilience, and defining moments that have left a lasting impression on UK policing over his career of 25 years.
Ali Dizaei was born in Tehran, studied for an Honors Degree and master’s degree in Law in London, and joined the Metropolitan Police in 1986. It was groundbreaking at the time for an officer with a Muslim heritage to join British policing and rise swiftly through the ranks. His undisputed skills in investigating crimes and increasing public confidence gained him the promotion to the post of Commander at Scotland Yard.

Ali Dizaei made it to the news headlines several times to question how things worked in the department. He raised the issue of racial discrimination within the police department. His non-filter personality got him elected as the National Black Police Association president in 2008. However, he became a sore thumb for the London Metropolitan police and faced several false accusations.
His department rebuked him as he was convicted of several charges. The department started an investigation against him, and he was suspended from his job. He faced a sentence of four years, but his wife ‘shy’ helped with the case.
Ali Dizaei is also an author and has published two bestselling books. He has also published numerous articles on policing.
After leaving Scotland Yard, Dr. Dizaei launched his private intelligence & investigative agencies around the globe, employing expert people from security and military backgrounds to conduct serious investigations. He is using his policing expertise to help other people.
However, Ali Dizaei didn’t give up on clearing his name from the charges he was facing in court. Currently, he is leading a happy life with his wife and a son.
