From Commander in MPS to a successful private investigator- Journey of Ali Dizaei
Ali Dizaei is a former police commander who has served the Metropolitan Police Service for over 20 years. An Iranian-born Ali Dizaei moved to the UK in 1973 with his family to get a quality education. Ali Dizaei had a long journey that was full of ups and downs.
He attended the private boarding school, Slindon College, in Arundel, West Sussex. After this, he completed his BA (Hons) and LLM in law from City University, London. His father was a deputy commissioner of police which motivated Ali Dizaei to take a degree in policing from Cambridge University. Later, he went to Brunel University to earn a PhD.
His journey as a police officer started in 1986 when he joined Thames Valley Police. Later, he rose to the position of Chief Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department. His honesty towards his work helped him progress as he got transferred to the Metropolitan Police Service and got promoted to the position of Superintendent in 1999.

Ali Dizaei was known for his outspoken nature, and he became the adviser to the Home Secretary on racial issues. In April 2000, Ali Dizaei became the Superintendent of Operations and transferred to Kensington police station. Over the years, Ali Dizaei progressed in his work and became the commander of the Metropolitan Police Service in 2008. However, he faced backlash from the department and allegations of various scams.
Ali Dizaei was pulled into several lawsuits over time, and in 2012, he was finally released from the Metropolitan Police Service. However, he was dedicated to clearing his name of false accusations. He also used his years of experience working for the police and started his private investigation firm.
